DÔEN 2025 “Summer Chapter One” Favorites + What I Bought!

With Summer just around the corner, DÔEN dropped its highly anticipated collection, Summer Chapter One today. Think airy cotton pieces to frolic along the beach in, DÔEN’s notorious throw-on-and-go dresses, and all the florals, gingham, crochet, and pops of yellow you could imagine. Now, let’s go through some of my favorite pieces from this collection.

Rosita Top, Rachelle Skirt, Gio Sandal

The first set that immediately caught my eye was this white smocked set. The pieces could easily be worn separately or together, and I love the ruffle detailings along the neckline and sleeves. Throwing this on after a long day at the beach for dinner is effortless and chic.

Belline Dress

Next, I love this Belline dress in the pink gingham print, and DÔEN also dropped it in black and white gingham. I’m into the fitted bodice look with the A-line skirt, and the three bows add a cute touch. For $328 USD, I wish the dress was 100% cotton (it’s 65% recycled polyester and 35% cotton). For that reason, and the thin straps matched with the fitted bodice making it difficult to wear a bra with this, it was unfortunately (but fortunately for my wallet) a pass for me.

Julia Dress

This Julia dress was an immediate add to cart for me. No questions, no concerns, no qualms. Made from 100% cotton, this is my ideal dress. I love a puffed sleeve, a scoop neckline, and a loose mini dress- what more could I ask for with this drop? I love the black contrast piping trims and the little bow adorned the center. I can’t wait to throw this on on a hot summer day to bop around Chicago. I envision myself pairing it with black strappy sandals and maybe a fun red bag for a pop of color- I recently purchased this one from Madewell.

Eloise Dress

Crochet in the summer? A staple. This red Eloise dress is understated but chic. It also comes in black, but the red is beautiful. I’m a huge fan of this one.

Silvie Top

DÔEN has some of the most beautiful white, 100% cotton, blouses ever. I probably have around 5 or so. This one caught my eye because I love ruffles, puffed sleeves, and a scooped neckline. The crochet detailing along the neckline is a cute touch too. I’m curious what this will look like on, and if it will look too much like a nightgown or some sort of pajama top. I also recently purchased the DÔEN Frederica Top in Painted Bouquet which is some ways feel quite similar to this top. I think I’ll try on both and likely choose one and return the other (honestly, there’s also a very high chance I end up keeping both- whoops!).

Lucette Dress

This Lucette dress is beautiful. Stunning. Flawless. No notes. I love the deep v in the front and the back, and the ruffles along the front. It’s made of 100% cotton which is great, although I’m guessing it’s unlined. That’s nothing a nude slip can’t fix though. This is in my cart as a maybe. I love it, but I also own too many maxi dresses and I don’t feel the most confident in this silhouette. It is so beautiful though… ugh!

Henri Top

DÔEN also dropped their popular Henri top in this light blue shade called Misty Morning. I have this top in the light pink shade called Blush, and also have my eye on the black and white stripe one and the all white one. AND now, this light blue one! This top is perfectly lightweight, feminine, and so easy to throw on with a pair of jeans or shorts. It’s paired here with the Ivette Short that DÔEN says, “will arrive with a future chapter of our collection” – I’ll be patiently awaiting that drop. This top was also released as a sleeveless version, in black and white, that’s gorgeous as well.

Fifi Ballet Flat

Butter yellow? Always a yes. I love these flats, they’re perfect for Spring and Summer. I own way too many flats to purchase these ones, but I’ve never tried DÔEN shoes and am definitely intrigued.

Orla Bag

And of course, nothing screams Summer like a raffia accessory. Whether it’s a tote to fit all your beach essentials in, a clutch to complement your maxi dress, or just an oversized hat, a raffia accessory is quintessentially Summer. I love this crochet bag with the scalloped detailing, and it comes in tan and black! So perfect for Summer, and so perfect for day or night.

What I Bought:

I ended up only purchasing two things from this drop. The Julie Dress was an immediate yes, and the Silvie Top caught my eye enough to purchase and try out. If money wasn’t an option, there are quite a few other things I would have bought as well. I didn’t mention it, but the Marcella Dress in yellow is stunning, I just don’t think I’m cool enough to pull it off. That’s it for now, but I’ll think about it and may be back for a Round 2 of purchases.

“Coming Soon…”

Summer Chapter One also came with some items labeled as “Coming Soon.” I think there are definitely some winners there, and I’ll be watching closely for the upcoming drops throughout the summer. I am particularly excited for these 4 pieces below.

I love the pattern and fit on the maxi dress, the black flowy top with the square neckline, the lace shorts, and the gingham top that looks slightly cinched and just has the perfect shape to it.

Thanks for reading, come back soon! – Jamie
